DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

Organisation

Our faculty was established under the Rectorate of Kayseri University with the Law on the Amendment of the Higher Education Law and Some Decree Laws published in the Official Gazette dated 18 May 2018 and numbered 30425. The Department of Health Management, which was opened within the Develi Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, started education by accepting its first students as of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Qualification Awarded:

Graduates of our department are entitled to receive the title of Historian.

Department and Employment Profile:

Our graduates are appointed as history teachers by the Ministry of National Education if they get enough points from the KPSS exam after the pedagogical formation education. Our graduates also have the opportunity to work in private education institutions if they prefer. They can also work in different public institutions such as General Directorate of Foundations, Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives, General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre. Our graduates, who also have the opportunity to work as an expert in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and as a guide in tourism companies, can become a research assistant in universities by fulfilling the required prerequisites, as well as continue their path in the academic field by continuing postgraduate education in Turkey and abroad.

Transfer to Higher Degree Programmes

The course contents of our department are prepared for students who want to continuously improve themselves, and also provide education opportunities for graduates who want to continue graduate education. In addition, our Master's programme, which started its activities in the 2022-2023 academic year, provides education to both our graduates and students graduating from History departments of other universities, and our Master's programme is expected to give its first graduates this year.
