DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT

Organisation

Our faculty was established under the Rectorate of Kayseri University with the Law on the Amendment of the Higher Education Law and Some Decree Laws published in the Official Gazette dated 18 May 2018 and numbered 30425. The Department of Health Management, which was opened within the Develi Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, started education by accepting its first students as of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Degree Awarded

Unlike administrative sciences, the graduates of the Department of Health Management, which includes comprehensive education programmes on the organisation and management of services covering many specialised areas such as health insurance, health economics, health law, quality in health services, marketing in health services, strategic management in health, communication in health, human resources management in health services, are given the title of Health Manager in accordance with the decision of the Executive Board of Higher Education on 26.08.1998.

Programme Profile

The aim of the Health Management Programme is to train middle and senior level managers for health institutions and organisations, to conduct education and research in the field of health management for the benefit of the country and in accordance with the conditions of the country. As a 4-year undergraduate programme, the Department of Health Management trains professionals to carry out the management and planning activities of institutions in the health sector with the necessary analysis and scientific studies. Kayseri University Department of Health Management, which provides its students with a wide range of education from hospital management to health technologies and usage, aims to train highly qualified, highly competent managers or administrators who have adopted contemporary and universal values, research and question, have the knowledge, skills and ideals to manage health institutions, have an entrepreneurial spirit towards production, have developed communication and leadership skills, are equipped with the principles, concepts, knowledge and skills required for their profession, have developed communication skills and are competent in the field of health. The courses offered in this department teach students the basic principles, rules and practices of management, economic principles, as well as analytical thinking and teamwork skills. The qualified manpower that will graduate from our department, which aims to provide a nationally and internationally recognised and preferred education with approaches and methods based on science and technology, professional principles and standards, will meet the management needs of the health sector. In line with the rapid development of the health sector in the world and simultaneously in Turkey, the need for qualified personnel is increasing. It is aimed to provide employment opportunities to those who are interested in the field in question, who want to specialise in the professional sense by receiving education, by offering the educational needs they demand. Graduates work in public and private health institutions and organisations with the title of health operator or manager. Graduates of the Department of Health Management who take the title of health operator or manager: Health and social security institutions and organisations, pharmaceutical and medical device industry, non-governmental organisations are responsible for administrative, financial and technical affairs. Graduates who continue their postgraduate education can continue their academic careers in related faculties and colleges of universities.
