The “Turkey Sportive Talent Screening and Sports Orientation Program”, which was initiated within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of National Education, continues throughout the country. Since the beginning of the program in the 2017-2018 academic year, a total of 4 million 413 thousand 115 students have participated in general screening tests and measurements, 456 thousand 595 students have been found to be predisposed to sports and 103 thousand 297 students have been directed to sports branches.

In the light of the data obtained from the meticulous work carried out within the scope of the program, the attached book titled “Turkey Sportive Talent Model-7-11 Age Physical Fitness Norm Values” was published by our Ministry at https://yayinlar.gsb.gov.tr/This book, which presents anthropometric data and various physical performance indicators of approximately 3 million 500 thousand children between the ages of 7-11 in percentiles, is one of the most comprehensive studies conducted worldwide.

Although the main objective of the program is to identify and direct talented athletes to sports branches, the results obtained provide unique data for many sectors such as education, food, clothing industry, especially sports and health. These data will not only pioneer the identification and training of talented athletes and the development of relevant policies, but will also enable comparative interpretations and policies to be developed for the overall productivity of our society in the long term.
